Ian Carey elected Fingal county commissioner

We are very proud of our former group leader, Ian Carey, who was elected county commissioner of the Fingal Scout county earlier this week. We wish him the very best in the coming years and have no doubt that he will have a positive influence on the Scout County.

Lion Cub Pack have a backwoods day in Larch Hill

The Lion cub pack were out in Larch Hill on Sunday. The cubs were introduced to backwoods cooking. A fun day was had by all.

The Raven Troop Climb Slieve Foy

We are really proud of our Raven troop. Nineteen scouts went out to climb Slieve Foy in county Louth on Saturday.

Table Quiz – Lord Mayors June 16th 8pm – 10pm

We are running a fundraising table quiz and we need teams.

The cost is €10 a head and we want every family in the group to be represented at the event. Teams can have up to 5 members and it is for adults only.

The money we raise will go towards some major events that our older scouts are taking part in. We have two venture scouts representing our group on a Mountaineering Ireland Youth Initiative in the Alps this summer and two others taking part in a 100km walk, known as the Venture Challenge.

These youth members are real role models in our group and they are a credit to themselves and their families.

With your help we want to pay part of the entry fees for these challenges. When young people take on big challenges like this it helps build their self-esteem, self-discipline, and has positive effects on them for the rest of their lives. They also inspire others to do the same.
